BROOKLYN RUNNING ACADEMY
The Brooklyn Running Academy is a beginner/intermediate running program. The Academy’s experienced professor coaches foster a non-intimidating, welcoming environment that caters to the specific needs of each participating individual. The differentiating factor from others of running programs of the same classification is “E-squared”: execution and experience. Cheesy? A bit, but we challenge ourselves to raise the E-squared factor in our store on a daily basis, and now we’re applying that mantra to our version of a traditional beginner running program.
The New York City running scene fulfills every possible need of the competitive, experienced runner. But on a relative basis, it has for years treated the beginner looking to learn more about the sport and lace up their shoes for the first time in a less gracious manner. No more! Enrollees will be broken out into groups according to ability and experience level, and each group will have a running coach that leads their workout.
The Academy is accepting enrollment applications (we’re kinda like the University of Phoenix: everyone gets in!). Classes are scheduled three times per week and programs range from 6-8 weeks. The semester costs $90-$95 depending on length of respective sessions (yes, that’s a weird bargain for the level of service and experience you’ll receive) and includes a free Brooklyn Running Academy tee. The NYRR race registration fee is not included.
“…but I’m not a runner” is not an accepted phrase at this school of higher learning!
