How do you shop local without having to leave your home in the chilly winter months?  Operation House Call is a premium service offered by the Brooklyn Running Company for a limited time only (through January 31). Here’s how it works:

BROOKLYN HOUSE CALL: If you reside in Brooklyn, we will literally pay you a house call.  Guaranteed next-day home delivery scheduled to your residence from a BRCo representative braving the elements on the company bike! And if you so desire, your smiling delivery friend will even offer an on-the-spot shoe-fitting consultation in your doorway to ensure they fit as well as your previous pair. If you’re not satisfied for whatever reason, we’ll bring them back to the store with us at no charge.

FREE SHIPPING OUTSIDE OF BROOKLYN: If you’ve been fitted at the BRCo and it’s time to reload with a new pair of your shoes, simply call us (718-782-7866) or email us ( to re-order. We guarantee a very prompt response (worst case same day) and will immediately ship you a new pair of your shoes if you live within the 48 contiguous United States. Subject to availability, but our stock levels are always very strong. Average delivery time is three-five business days and the shipping costs are on us.


Who else does this?

What if it’s been a while since my last purchase of these shoes and/or my model has since been updated? How will I know and does it matter?

When you first make contact we’ll be sure to let you know if your shoe has been updated, precisely what those updates are, and whether or not the changes are material enough to warrant a new shoe fitting. At that point we’ll decide together if it’s best for you to come back into the store. Convenience of home delivery is dreamy, but as the many who’ve ordered ill-fitting shoes over the internet are well aware, a proper fit is much more important. This will save you time and money in the long run.

Does this program only apply to the same model of shoes I already have? What if I want to support my local running store, but want a different model and/or brand of shoes and just can’t find the time to get back into the store? Is Operation House Call for me?

Absolutely! But this makes our dialogue even more critical. Based upon our phone or email conversation, we’ll be able to decide whether or not we feel comfortable shipping you a new type of shoe without an actual fitting. Apologies for being so conservative, but we sincerely believe in the importance of properly fitting footwear. Studies have shown the top online shoe sites have an average return rate of 35-40%, so we believe it’s justified.

What if my new shoes arrive and for whatever reason, even if they’re the same model I currently have, no longer fit or I’m unsatisfied for some other reason? Can I return them? Will you pay for the return shipping?

We have always maintained an industry leading return policy –basically, we take anything back at any time- and we are extending it to cover this program. If you are unhappy for any reason with your purchase, we will accept your return after any length of time, with or without a receipt. However, in this specific instance, we will not cover return shipping because it’s clear we need to sit down, discuss your specific needs and conduct a new fitting process. Unlike Zappo’s or the like, we want to get to the root of the problem, not keep shipping you footwear that isn’t right for you.

What if I’m not sure I like the new color options (if they’ve changed)?

Trust us, we get it, style matters. While we emphasize fitting, we know that how you look is important too. We’ll gladly take a pic of the new colors being modeled on a BRCo staff member and send along so you can make the call yourself. It’ll be a fun and interactive shopping experience!

Does this offer only apply to shoes? Could you help me pick out some socks, shorts, nutrition, etc?

Of course, the whole store is in play. Free shipping still applies no matter how large your box grows. We’ll work with you.

How do I pay?

We will only accept your credit or debit card information over the phone. This number will not be stored in our system nor will it be written down. We treat our customers’ personal information with the utmost level of discretion. If you don’t want to give us your information over the phone and act quickly enough to qualify for the personalized delivery, our representative will have a mobile payment device on their person.

Does this service apply to those living outside of the continental U.S.?

Unfortunately, no. Give us time to satisfy all needs in the forty-eight continental states first, then we’ll look to broaden the scope of the program.
